From the President: For March 2008
Drat. I'm going to miss this one, but you shouldn't.
March 12 is one of the two "Open Reads" Sierra Writers does each year. Getting fellow writers to critique your work is a fundamental tool for moving you along as a writer. It's a chance to receive constructive feedback, and you tune your skills, as well, by providing constructive feedback. Sierra Writers has several ongoing critique groups for more involved feedback over time.
The Open Read is a standalone opportunity. Maybe you've never tried the critique group experience. Maybe you're not quite ready for a critique group that meets every month. Maybe you just want to enjoy this special kind of Sierra Writers meeting. The Open Read is different from the speakers we have at six meetings per year.
I especially enjoy the Open Read sessions, but I will be seeking out the wildflower bloom in the Southern California desert. It's nice to have such good choices.
