People talk about writing books, stories or articles. Some want to make a living as a writer or just get a great story written down. Whatever your goals as a writer, internal and external obstacles can keep you from achieving them. Wednesday, June 11th at 6:30, Sierra Writers presents Katey Coffing to help writers develop a plan and a support system for success. Whether you feel intimidated by the publishing industry, whether you suffer writer’s block or procrastination or plain old distraction, this free event provides information and inspiration to help you meet your writing goals.
“Goalmeister” Katey Coffing, PhD, offers you “Kick-Ass Goals for Writers: Achieving Your Dreams with the Treasure Map for Success.” She is a writer and a certified life coach who specializes in working with writers. In this dynamic, interactive mini-workshop, you'll learn to choose S.M.A.R.T. (Specific, Measurable, Action-oriented, Realistic and Timed) writing goals instead of those that get you stuck. Participants will discover hot tips to stay motivated and achieve their dreams. They will walk out with a custom-made plan for success.
Coffing is a published author of short stories, nonfiction articles, and scientific papers. Writing fantasies and romances under the name Cate Rowan, she has been a finalist or winner in twenty-one contests, including the 2007 Golden Heart. As a former college professor and now a life coach for women writers, she knows the value of sticktuitiveness and striving for success.
Her life's work is helping her novelist and non-fiction clients set goals, finish and polish their manuscripts, and create highly effective queries and proposals that result in getting “The Call” from agents and publishers.
