Arlene Evans

A retired school nurse, Arlene Evans couldn't find literature for children or teens on the common genetic disorder of color vision deficiency (CVD) or colorblindness. The condition affects, to some extent, 1:12 males and 1:200 females. To fill this need, she wrote Seeing Color: It's My Rainbow, Too for children and Color is in the Eye of the Beholder for teens and adults. She wrote these books for everyone; just as people understand the challenges inherent for people in using a wheelchairs, for instance, they should understand the challenges involved in CVD.

Arlene also wrote a novel, Dinner for Two, a romantic-comedy-adventure published by Echelon Press. It's no surprise that the hero of Dinner for Two is colorblind!
